Dandeli : Razaq shah a name everyone in and around Dandeli refer when a snake or other species of animals sneak near human habitation.
Razaq shah has been instrumental in saving many human and animal lives by rescuing animals specially reptiles like snakes and crocodiles.
He has been so far saved thousands of snakes and released them in the wild. The locals call him Mowgli of Dandeli.
Recently one 15 feet Giant Indian rock python sneaked into Ganesh nagar of Dandeli near a new construction site. As soon as Razaq shah received a called he along with Farook Manzil who is a student of Razaq rushed to rescue.
Initially Razaq thought it must be a viper as this time of the year vipers come out. As soon as he reached the destination he was caught in utter surprise. It was a giant Indian Rock python measuring 15 feet.
The snake had swallowed a cat. Razaq and Farooq both engaged in rescuing the snake and shifting it back to the jungles as the locals might harm it.
Children actually use the road to commute. It took tremendous efforts to catch the snake which was heavy and powerful. Watch the video to check the efforts of the team.
The team then took the snake to the forest department after which it was safely released into the wild to where it belongs. Conservation is the key to ecological balance in our ecosystem.
