Monsoon is not over yet, many rivers are flowing above their danger mark. The western ghats receives heavy rainfall during the monsoon season.
The catchment area of river mandovi lies in the western ghats which is receiving heavy rainfall from the past few days. Crossing the river during the monsoon is risky as the water flows with great speeds.
The waterfall is visible from Kulem station(Goa) which can act as indicator if tourists should be allowed to visit the waterfall. If the flow on the waterfall is heavy then tourist movement can be restricted.
The Goa government is foolish to start the trek from kulem to dudhsagar as Mandovi river and its tributaries are in full spate. One should be cautious while trying to cross rivers as the swirling waters can drown even expert swimmers.
