Superseding its earlier order on week end curfews, the state government on Thursday authorised deputy commissioners to decide “as per their assessment” of the Covid-19 situation in the districts.
At present, the districts of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Hassan and Kodagu are currently under a weekend cur few.
“The deputy commission ers of the districts are authorised to decide on the weekend curfew in their jurisdiction according to their assessment of
the Covid-19 situation in their respective districts. This direction comes into effect immediately and supersedes the order dated August 30 with respect to weekend curfew in various districts,” Chief Secretary P Ravi Kumar stated in his order.
The order also noted the “consistent decline” in the Covid-19 positivity rate in the state. “The state as a whole has an average case positivity rate 0.73 and the districts are having case positivity rate of less than 2%,” it stated.
