Belgaum: The BJP has single has registered a clear win in Belgaum muncipal corporation. Many regional and national parities had been fielded their candidates. While AAP failed miserably to register a win AIMIM party registered one win in Subhash Nagar ward.
BJP registered won 36 seats while congress won only 10 seats and other parties bagged 14 seats.
MES party which failed to perform this time. History has records where MES would emerge as the single largest party in the past.
The results are crucial as it set the tone for upcoming Zila and Taluka Panchayat as well as Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike polls. The civic body election results is also seen as a big test for new chief minister Basavaraj Bommai as the party is facing polls for the first time under his leadership.
