Belgaum: Police here arrested the main accused in Karnataka power Transmission corporation (KPTCL) recruitment from Belgaum on Friday.
Laxman Bhandari has been remanded to seven 7 day police custody for further investigation.
With this arrest total number has gone up to 13 which includes vice principal of Garag college who was the supervisor of an examination centre in gadag and a Belgaum based lecturer.
Laxman Bhandari procured electronic gadgets, including Bluetooth devices, and supplied them to candidates.
He is also accused in police constable examination scam, which was exposed in 2021. He is out on bail in that case.
Candidates appearing the exam used to send questions to the accused through Bluetooth devices and a syndicate would provide answers.
Laxman evaded police from by going underground and changing locations.
He was arrested with the help of bhendigeri police and Hubli Dharwad police commissionerate.
